Laser Lipolysis

Laser lipolysis is a procedure that uses laser energy to break down fat cells. We use non-invasive machines (the laser is applied from outside the skin).

How it works

The laser delivers energy to the targeted fat layer. This energy:

  • Heats fat cells, causing them to rupture or become damaged.
  • Allows the body to gradually clear away the released fat over the following weeks to months.
  • In some systems, the heat also stimulates collagen production, which may lead to mild skin tightening.

Non-invasive laser lipolysis

  • Laser applicators are placed on the skin.
  • The laser heats fat cells without breaking the skin.
  • The damaged fat cells are gradually removed by the body’s lymphatic and immune systems.
  • No incisions or anaesthetic are typically required.

What areas can be treated?

Laser lipolysis is commonly used on:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks (“love handles”)
  • Thighs
  • Upper arms
  • Chin and neck
  • Back

What results can you expect?

Laser lipolysis is designed for body contouring, not significant weight loss. Most people see:

  • A modest reduction in fat in the treated area.
  • Improved body contour.
  • Possible mild skin tightening, especially with minimally invasive techniques.

Results develop gradually over 6–12 weeks, although some changes may be noticeable sooner.

Is it permanent?

The treated fat cells are destroyed and do not regenerate. However:

  • Remaining fat cells can still enlarge if you gain weight.
  • Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve the results.
